I am a landscape designer and landscaper with over 15 years experience working in gardens in the Hilltown’s, the Valley and the Berkshires of Western, Ma. I am passionate about designing and maintaining gardens, especially pollinator gardens. I love to install pollinator plants and habitat, as a whole design or in the mix with other ornamental perennial and annual favorites.

I believe that planting gardens with many native and some non native pollinators helps create a happy and healthy home for local creatures. They can live the life they were born to live, in relationship with the plants they evolved alongside. A pollinator landscape is a wonderful thing to create, nurture live with and witness. This habitat is a necessity for both wildlife and us to thrive. The land is beautified with flowers, shrubs, grasses, textures and colors all season long, creating delight and wildness. Watch who comes to live, work and enjoy your land with you. The gardens come alive with the buzzing of bees, darting hummingbirds, fluttering butterflies, caterpillars and chrysalis, birdsong and many more truly unique and beautiful insects. Creating a pollinator habitat helps reclaim land and offset the loss of habitat from monoculture practices, planting and mowing of green lawns, parking lots, pavement and suburban sprawl. A pollinator garden creates a diverse, colorful and vibrant home to many beneficial species and simultaneously beautifies our land, landscape and homes.

My employees and I use hand tools and our bodies so there is minimal noise and disruption, plus no fumes or the burning of fossil fuels. I do not use chemicals. I believe the health of the plants and landscape starts with healthy soil. I use compost and organic amendments in my garden beds and with new plantings to build rich soil.

I also love designing and creating container gardens for my client’s homes and businesses.

I support local businesses as much as possible and purchase many of my perennial and annual pollinator and ornamental plants from local growers and nurseries like A Wing And A Prayer Nursery in Cummington, Bare Roots Farm in Chesterfield and Andrew’s Greenhouse in Amherst.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss a design project or maintenance plans for your gardens at your home and/or business. I look forward to talking with you.
